error trying to use waves on windows
Reported by etropos | March 10th, 2009 @ 02:07 PM
I installed waves using the gen installation command
gem install waves --include-dependencies
without problems
Trying to use the waves framework I get the following error message: 'gem_original_require': no such file to load --daemons (LoadError)
Does somebody knows what is the problem?
Thanks

Waves needs the daemons gem. Did that get installed on your system?

No I didn't know that was necessary any other gem as I used the --include-dependencies, and thought that was enough to install all the gems thatwould be required. I already installed the daemons gem and where also required to install metaid gem.
WAVES is working now, thanks

Sorry to bother again. Trying to wake up the server using
waves server I got the following messages Logger sterted Waves::Server starting ruby-debug enabled
.... and then a error message .... gem/waves-0.8.2/lib/ext/kernel.rb:15:in 'trap': unsuppoerted signal SIGHUP (ArgumentError)
Do you know where the error is and how may I solve it? Thanks

Ugh, that's a Windows compat. issue we keep resurrecting. I will look at fixing it this week. Until then, see this message from the mailing list for a possible fix:
